BIOGRAPHY

Mike Reagan is a Composer, Songwriter, and Music Producer for Film, Television, and Games. His music has been recognized with several awards including an Interactive Academy Award, Grammy Award, and numerous Annie, BAFTA, and G.A.N.G. awards and nominations. Recording in Los Angeles and abroad, Mike works with world-renown musicians, artists and orchestras including the Hollywood Studio Orchestra, Seattle Sinfonia, London, Prague, and Bratislava Philharmonic Orchestras, with scores recorded at world-famous studios like Warner Brothers, Capitol Records, Larrabee, Skywalker Sound, and Abbey Road.

Blending classical orchestral forms and world music with a hybrid twist of pop, electronic and acoustic elements, Mike uses a hands-on approach as a multi-instrumentalist, synthesist, and programmer.  This method allows for quick experimentation, as Mike plays keyboards, bass, guitars, drums, percussion, and commands an array of analog synths and custom music software. This blend of artistic talent and studio technology is Mike’s launchpad for creating unique soundscapes both inside and outside several music genres.

Following his studies of guitar, composition, and music synthesis on scholarship at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, Mike began his professional career as a Sound Designer at Soundelux, Hollywood.  Mentored by a team of world-renown talent, he discovered a passion for blurring the lines between Score and Sound, most notably recognized with an Academy Award nomination for Sound Design in John Woo's FACE/OFF.  It was during this project that Mike met Director John Woo and Composers John Powell & Hanz Zimmer - a pivotal moment that inspired Mike to shift his focus toward a career as a composer.

While continuing his Sound Design duties, Mike began writing and producing original songs for various films, including  Oliver Stone’s Any Given Sunday (“Miami Sharks Theme Song”) and Sony Pictures/Jim Henson’s Elmo in Grouchland (“Take the First Step”), which won the Grammy Award for Best Children’s Soundtrack. Mike also began scoring top video games for Disney, Activision, Microsoft, Universal, and Sony Computer Entertainment including the God of War and Twisted Metal Franchises, which led to scoring iconic properties such as Conan, The Transformers, Darkwatch, Darksiders, Marvel's Spider-Man, and many others.

Film and TV projects soon followed with the films Unbeatable Harold starring Henry Winkler, and Magic Laptop starring Snoop Dogg, as well as scores and songs for hundreds of television series episodes including Bob Boyle's Wow Wow Wubbzy, Rovio's Angry Birds Toons series, Cartoon Network’s The Powerpuff Girls, and Silvergate / Netflix's Chico Bon Bon: Monkey with a Toolbelt. Mike recently completed the score and songs for Nickelodeon's upcoming Feb 2024 release of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Mike currently resides in the Los Angeles area and is represented by Mark L. Kovinsky.
